Dr. Bingham’s Lesson for May 8, 2011
Series in Colossians / Series on Prayer (Colossians 4:2)
“You want me to Pray for Who?” – 1 Timothy 2:1-8
Paul – “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
This is so that, in peace, witness for the Lord may flourish and souls would be saved.
Throughout this passage we see the phrase, “all men.”
Since Christ gave His life for a person, the least we can do is pray for them.
Luke 6:27-28; Matthew 5:44-45 – “Love your enemies”
Romans 10:1; 2 Thessalonians 3:1
